When you use Google (or another search engine) to find information you are searching for, you enter a search phrase or KEYWORD and get back a list of web pages where the keyword occurs.
Google is by far the most powerful search engine and gives you access to a huge amount of web pages and links the to keywords. The pages that come on top of the first page are most likely the ones that contain the best information about the keyword in question. The total number of pages containing the keyword is SUPPLY.
Every second hundreds of millions of people are using keywords to find information on the internet. Some of the keywords are being searched for again and again. The number of such keywords are called DEMAND.
So - it is easy to talk about supply and demand on the internet.
In marketing on the internet it is vital to be visible. Of course it is best to be on the first page when a future customer is searching for information that relates to your business.
Lets take a simple example. Carol is looking for a speedboat, she therefor enters “speedboat” and gets a list of interesting boats.
If you happen to sell speedboats - you are at an advantage if your page comes up on top.
